Welcome To Classified

You are guided down a long corridor within Saison, a restaurant nestled near gate C120 at Newark Liberty International Airport. As an unmarked door swings open, it reveals not the expected kitchen corridors but an entire secluded dining area, warmly greeted by a handful of staff. "Welcome to Classified," they announce as they escort you to a table by the window, granting a picturesque vista of planes arriving and departing from the tarmac.

The dining experience at Classified is imbued with a distinct sense of exclusivity, owing to its speakeasy-inspired concealment and exclusive invitation-only access. Our experience at the invite only restaurant in Newark called "classified" was definitely something very different that what we have all come to expect at the airport which is loud, crowded and little to no service.

On the contrary, this experience was super exclusive, incredibly attentive service, VERY quiet and overall a lovely reprieve from the constant noise you generally find in an airport. They specifically only invite a handful of people at a given time because they give no time restrictions on how long you can stay and they don't want the space to feel crowded. Service was very attentive and personalized! I think this is an amazing option after a long day of travel when you want some peace and quiet... It could see this being great for those jetsetters and corporate execs that need to impress with a great "in the know" meeting spot! Fun concept to try!

How does one score an invite to this exclusive restaurant?

Classified is known as an invitation only for the elite echelon of flyers. While it is “an unknown mystery” for the exact reasoning for selected invitations, but our sources tell us that Global Service members, the premier level of frequent flyers on United Airlines were the first to receive the sought-after invite. It is also said that you have to be at least 1K status to be invited. However, The specific frequent flier qualifications required for Classified invitation have not been officially disclosed, and it's unclear what status tier would be considered the minimum threshold, or whether any specific in-year flying benchmarks may serve as a qualification.

While Classified operates as an invite-only restaurant, you can also visit United.com/classified and look up your potential eligibility with your MileagePlus number. If you're not currently on the list, you can request consideration to receive an invite in the future, basically letting the airline know it's something you're interested in and likely boosting your odds of future eligibility.
