MEET BETH

FOUNDER & AGENT

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend but more than that- I am a jet setter!

Where do you live?
I am based in Charleston, SC but work with clients all over the globe.

Do you have a favorite thing about traveling?
Researching, Eating at new restaurants and staying in Unique hotels!

What’s your favorite food?
Mexican- give me chips, salsa and a margarita and I am a happy girl! PS: Tequila tastes better in Mexico!

Do you have a bucket list trip?
Absolutely!! A full week in Provence at a cooking school, drinking French wine and channeling my inner a Julia Childs.

Do you have advice for travelers?
Sooo much! But my main one- be flexible! Save your pennies and create experiences with your family, instead of buying things. Take time out of your life to restore your relationships and travel. Whether you are traveling alone with with your significant other, make it a priority.  Show your kids the world and give them a sense of culture and diversity. Travel often, it renews your spirit!

Have you ever been somewhere that you’d say “changed your life”?
Yes!! I most recently traveled to a Dude Ranch in Colorado and spent a week being disconnected from all technology. I walked into it terrified but walked away so renewed! It is the perfect vacation for families who need to press pause and reconnect.

Do your husband and son love to travel as much as you?
We all live with our suitcases packed and ready to go! Our family loves Cruising, visiting Disney World, New York City, Skiing Out West and All Inclusive Vacations.

You call yourself a “foodie”- what does that look like for you in terms of traveling?
It’s everything!! I have been known to plan my personal trips just around food/restaurants. We love eating our way through new cities. From Florence, Italy to Napa Valley to Vermont- I research and plan itineraries with breakfast, lunch and dinner in mind.

Why the name “The Hello Agency”?
In the South, no matter how busy we all are- a simple “Hello” from a stranger can change the course of a person’s day. We want to be a company who builds a business on hospitality and by offering personalized service. We know everyone has a different idea of what they are looking for in terms of their vacation and we are here to help guide you throughout the process- from the moment we say Hello- till we follow up with you after you return.

Where do you live?

I am based in Seattle, WA but I am a California native who recently transplanted to the Pacific Northwest by way of Charleston, SC

Do you have a favorite thing about traveling?
I love experiencing new cultures, people, food, all of it! Making treasured memories and new world views are the best souvenirs.

What’s your favorite food?
Tacooooooos! I'm from SoCal, so I could basically eat Mexican food every day of my life and be a happy camper! 🇲🇽

Do you have a bucket list trip?
Too many too count! But a romantic get away to Italy is definitely at the top of the list! Riding vespas, exploring historical buildings, wine tasting through Tuscany, eating pasta + pizza to my heart's content, and relaxing on the beach of The Mediterranean.

Have you ever been somewhere that you’d say “changed your life”?
Yes! Traveling to Kenya was definitely one of those trips for me! I met the most warm and generous people I've ever encountered, saw awe inspiring landscapes, and observed wild animals (lions!) up close and personal in The Masai Mara National Reserve. Africa opened my heart to new beauty and world diversity. It was the kind of trip that marked my life forever.

Do your husband and kids love to travel as much as you?
Yes! Every one of us are always up for an adventure, big or small!

You call yourself a “foodie”- what does that look like for you in terms of traveling?
It's all about the experience for me! There is nothing like eating the best greek yogurt you'll ever taste in your life while in Greece, or loading up on fish-n-chips at a popular London pub, or savoring Hawaiian shave ice under a palm tree on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Location: Rock Hill, SC also known as Football City USA

Fun Facts: I am a Clemson Tiger, proud dog mom, foodie, engineer and traveler. I am originally from the suburbs of Washington, DC and have decided to settle myself in the sweetest part of the south, Rock Hill, SC. I am an engineer for a general contractor in Charlotte, NC and I work to create amazing complex structures. Nevertheless, my true passion lies in travel and all of the planning, experiences and transformations that it entails.

Do you have a favorite thing about traveling?

I love meeting new people. I have travelled to several countries and have lived with natives. In France, I learned the way of leisure living in the countryside and enjoying the beauty of the world around. In Japan, I discovered the exciting, bustling life of Tokyo and all of the amazing food, technology and fashion there is to offer! The families I stayed with helped me to immerse myself into their lifestyles and their diverse culture.

What’s your favorite food?

Asian, French, Mexican, a Mickey shaped waffle. I love all foods and I love trying strange delicacies. In Japan, I ate cow’s tongue—and no it did not taste like chicken. I also ate fresh sushi, oysters, ramen, tendon and my absolute favorite sukiyaki! In Korea, I had bulgogi, Korean barbeque and kimchi and oh my goodness they were delicious! In France, I had escargot and they really are delicious. Also, appreciating some croissants and crepes along the Loire is really one of the best things. I love being adventurous in food. I’ll try anything once!

Do you have a bucket list trip?

I have been many places and I’m only 23! But I would love to travel around Europe more. I want to run from bulls, stand under Stonehenge, hear the bells of Big Ben, follow the steps of heroes on the beaches of Normandy, and climb every mountain like Julie Andrews. I have aspirations to visit all of these places, just need a little pixie dust and I’ll be flying off.

Do you have advice for travelers?

My advice would be to have the willingness to try something new. Be spontaneous and try something out of your comfort zone! Live like locals and do as they do! Enjoy the life around you and also most of all take a chance to breathe it in! Travelling can become fast paced and scheduled but take the time to sit back, enjoy the breeze and live La Vie en Rose.

Have you ever been somewhere that you’d say “changed your life”?

A couple of summers ago, I visited my brother and his family as he was stationed in South Korea. Traveling that country and meeting locals was just a change from my simple reality. It is a country still at war and still fully prepared for everything and anything. I discovered just how serious life is; just a couple hours beyond the city is the DMZ and it is nothing like I have ever seen. The border is a very serious and tense place. Everyone is on edge and ready. It is nothing like what you will find in the states. It was enlightening to realize what life is like in different parts of the world especially those in severe contrast to your own. I now have a new found appreciation for my freedom and the work that my brother and the military does to keep life the way it is.

You call yourself a “foodie”- what does that look like for you in terms of traveling?

Food is everything! Food is the best way to really immerse oneself into the culture around them. From homemade ratatouille, or Japan’s version of a backyard barbeque which involves everything from oysters to ribs, enjoying the food of the people is the best way to understand the culture and its flavor.

I Love toexperience something new! Food, places,a new adventure...I’m always looking to expand my world!

What is your favorite food?
Does goat cheese count?? I will eat almost anything! I love trying something I’ve never had before. I also love to share food.My husband and my best friend Katy are usually pretty willing to switch plates with me mid-meal!! I love small plates so I can have lots of different tastes in one meal! I get bored easily.

Do you have any advice for travelers?
Time together is the best investment you can make in your relationships! I love thesense of refreshment and togetherness that comes from a shared experience. “Things” will come and go, but memories last. Sodon’t wait! Just GO!

Is there anywhere you have traveled to that changed your life?
I think every trip you take changes you a little! It helps you see your place in this world a little clearer.  Even if it is justby getting to know yourself better.
Being near the ocean is vital for me. I can’t help but feelmore connected to myself and my creator. I can’t go very long without feeling sand and saltwater!

Does your family love to travel?
Yes! My husband did not get totravel much as a young person, so we are making up for lost time! My girls are natural adventurers and love it as much as we do! (Especially if we are headed to Disney!) My youngest always asks to stay in a hotel for her birthday!
